This is a typical drive circuit for a voice coil. It's not the one from the Midac but it is similar. The main feature of this circuit is that it will apply maximum voltage to the coil in order to drive the current in the coil to equal the command input as quickly as possible. If an extra sinusoidal current is injected into the circuit at the summing junction of the op amp, it will cyclically disturb the mirror velocity.
