The phase array is quite flat across the mid-IR. This means that the assumption that the phase delays of the laser and infrared detectors are small is justified. If there were any phase delay due to the detector preamps being mismatched it would be expected to have a strong frequency dependence leading to large phase variations across the spectral range.
