FT-IR Interferogram Sampling Validation and Correction

The Texas Instruments TMS320C67 was originally slated for production availability 4th quarter '98. It has been rescheduled to 2nd quarter '99. Each chip will be capable of more than 1 billion float point operations per second. The analog input bandwidth of the board is equally impressive - four channels of 10 MHz 12-bit ADCs. This chip is probably capable of processing 1000 interferograms per second in real time with half the processor bandwidth in reserve for chemometric analysis of the data. Considerably less than 1/20th of this processors time would be required for executing servocontrol of a interferometer in either rapid-scan or step-scan operation.
