This is the DSP accessory card that sits in the PC's accessory bus. This allows the use of the PC/peripherals for display, storage, and data analysis. The real power of this DSP comes from 3 features: the audio quality analog inputs and outputs, the speed of floating point operations (60 MFLOPS under favorable conditions) and the deterministic timing. This DSP is more than fast enough to handle real time processing of ten interferograms per second while tracking and controlling the mirror velocity and position.
